The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Westminster couple yesterday after a baby was taken to the hospital with injuries.
Travis Robert William Nix and Caroline Shaw, both 19-years-old, are both charged with one count each of Unlawful Neglect of a Child.
Deputies got a call of reported child abuse on Jan. 22.
They say the child was in the emergency room of Oconee Memorial Hospital.
The 12-week-old child had suffered a serious arm injury and injuries to an ankle and baby’s mid-section at a home at Kinston Loop Drive.
They say the child was placed in a safe environment after being released from the hospital.
As of Noon today, Nix and Shaw are still in custody at the Detention Center awaiting bond hearings.
