SC 3-year-old boy dies in crash, police ask for public’s help with investigation

GREENVILLE, S.C. – A young Simpsonville boy has died after a wreck Monday in Greenville.

The coroner’s office says Ashton Shawn Moore, 3, was injured in the crash at Mauldin Road and South Pleasantburg Drive around 2:45 p.m.

Moore died at the hospital Tuesday morning.

Investigators say he was buckled into the back seat when the vehicle he was in collided with two other vehicles.

An autopsy shows Moore died from blunt force trauma to the head, according to the coroner’s office.

The case remains under investigation.

Police released a surveillance image, requesting that anyone in the vehicles pictured contact them so they are able to complete a thorough investigation.
