FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) -Ruiz foods in Florence donated more than $2,700 today to the McLeod Cancer Center.
The company raised money by holding a “pink out” day, donating $5 for every employee who wore pink. The company’s workers also bought ribbons in honor of someone affected by breast cancer and held a “supervisor pink bucket” competition to raise even more funds. For the pink bucket competition, workers collected donations and named a manager. The manager with the most donations in their name had to come to work dressed in pink.
“You know i think for Ruiz it’s about being a positive presence in the community, it’s something that we believe in and our team members value that. It’s part of our values, its who we are, we wanna be a positive presence,” said Director of Operations Dennis Beckley.
