MYRTLE BEACH , SC (WBTW) Growing up on the Grand Strand Chrissy Mays never dreamed she would one day be the owner of an entertainment option in Myrtle Beach.
“I live five minutes from here, my parent’s office is five minutes from here,” Mays, the new owner of Rockin’ Jump said. “Everything I’ve done my entire life is five minutes from here.”
The entertainment complex is complete with a trampoline park, slam dunk zone, ninja courses and much more. Rockin’ Jump says jumpers can burn up to 1,000 calories per hour.
“It’s all about energy, the brightness of colors the fun environment,” Rockin’ Jump General Manager Dexter Mitchell said.
Pits of foam, hoops waiting to be slammed all while that florescent green shade beams brightly all around.
“Exhausted all sweaty,” Mitchell said of his perfect picture of a family leaving for the day. “Parents literally pulling their kids out holding them. Totally exhausted but exhilarated as well.”
Before challenging courses create Ninjas of strength, the location went through a massive three-month transformation
“When we got the keys and we came in and it was a big empty box, there was nothing in here,” Mays said.
Hours of work led from paper plans to finished product. A box of springs ever so carefully placed one by one waiting for the first bounce to catapult skyward.
“We’ve had a lot of excitement around it. The city has been really supportive of it,” Mays said.
For an ownership and management group from right here in Horry County, it’s a chance to add a unique entertainment option to the Grand Strand.
“It’s a little overwhelming exciting. I can’t believe we are here,” Mays said.
That empty box has surely transformed. Pallets in plastic are now unwrapped and ready just awaiting that first fail, sending smiling faces into un-perfectly perfect landings.
“Everything we do is from a local perspective, it’s not big corporate guys in another town,” Mays said. “It’s all local business it’s all local minded it’s all local stuff.”
Rockin’ Jump is located at 2200 N. Oak Street in Myrtle Beach next to the Children’s Museum of South Carolina. The location has a soft opening Thursday May 26th before the Grand Opening is Friday June 3.
Mays said they even have plans to hold fitness classes at their location later in the year.
