CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – On Monday Randy Robinson was sentenced to 40 years in prison for the murder of Angie Pipkin.

The judge sentenced Robinson to 30 years for voluntary manslaughter and 10 years for obstruction of justice. The judge also is giving Robinson credit for the time he has already served.

After the sentencing, Angie’s daughter, Taylor Pipkin, told News13 she was pleased with Robinson’s sentence, but no amount of jail time would bring back her mother.

Horry County Clerk of Court’s office confirms Randy Gale Robinson submitted a plea last Tuesday in connection with the killing of Angie Pipkin.

Court officials say Robinson pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and obstruction of justice.

Authorities say Robinson killed Pipkin and disposed of her dismembered body at a landing on the Great Pee Dee River in Darlington County.

Pipkin was last seen on January 16, 2014 getting into a car at the IGA on Main Street in Aynor, officials say. She was later seen on security cameras around 9:30 p.m. at the Wilco Food Mart at 6222 Highway 707 in Myrtle Beach.

On May 14, 2014, investigators announced remains found in East Florence off Paper Mill Road belonged to Pipkin.

The guilty plea was submitted to Judge Steven John.
