LUMBERTON, NC (WBTW) –  According to Public Schools of Robeson County, school is scheduled to start again Monday morning for all students. Additionally, all Robeson County school employees will report to work Thursday morning.

On a Facebook post created Wednesday, officials said some bus routes and bus stops could be changed pending the findings of a report set to be released by the PSRC Department of Transportation this week.  School principals will be contacting parents about any students who were displaced or impacted by road closures to inform them of the bus route changes after the report is released.

West Lumberton Elementary, which was under several feet of water for more than a week, will open at a different site. West Lumberton Elementary will begin Monday on the Lumberton Junior High Campus in the 300 Wing. Parents from West Lumberton will receive direction from Principal Tara Bullard as to drop-offs, pick-ups and transportation for students.

W.H. Knuckles Elementary will open on schedule Monday as well. There will be no students in the Kindergarten or 1st grade wing. Those students will be housed in the main building. Lunches will be transported into the school since the cafeteria suffered damage.

The school district central office staff has been relocated to Comtech Technology Park and to UNC Pembroke offices after the school district’s central office, maintenance and child nutrition offices were flooded by the storm.
