LUMBERTON, NC (WBTW) – For more than a month now, Robeson County has considered a plan that would consolidate 30 elementary and middle schools and renovate five others.
Tuesday evening the Robeson County School Board will meet at district office for a special meeting regarding the possible consolidation plan.
The school board chairman Mike Smith tells News13 that the board is split on whether to go forth with the plan and that there is no particular deadline for a decision.
The Robeson County Commissioners have already signed off on the plan.
There will be a prayer vigil before and after Tuesday meeting. Members organizing it ask for people to bring candles.
