FAYETTEVILLE, NC  – Police are looking for a robber who has been pepper-spraying employees, then stealing from businesses while his victims are incapacitated.

Just after 8 a.m. Wednesday, a man entered the Subway at 1738 Bingham Drive in Fayetteville, went to the kitchen and pepper-sprayed the manager, according to police. He then went to the register, took cash and left, police said. The manager recovered from the effects of the spray after being treated on the scene, according to police.

Just after 10:30 a.m., a man walked into the Little Caesars at 3459 N. Main Street in Hope Mills and ordered some food, according to police. Once an employee had opened the register, the man reached across the counter and pepper-sprayed the employee, according to police. The man then took cash from the register and left, police said. The employee was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The robber in the cases is described by police as a black man with “a slight beard.” He was wearing a black cap, sunglasses, white cotton gloves and black Nike shoes, according to police.
