River Jamboree to be held at Lynches River County Park

COWARD, S.C. (PRESS RELEASE)– The 13th annual celebration of Lynches River County Park will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The festival emerged as a result of the vision of the Florence County Recreation Commission’s desire to create an event to promote Lynches River County Park that would serve as a focal point for eco-tourism in Florence County.

River Jamboree offers an assortment of quality activities and exhibits that showcase the natural resources and the numerous recreational activities available at Lynches River County Park. Canoe excursions are scheduled throughout the day to give both novice and expert paddlers the opportunity to experience the Lynches Scenic River, which serves as the northern border of the Park. The Environmental Discovery Center is a hands-on nature center which also provides programs that highlight the importance of being a good steward of our Earth. An open house at the Community Building gives those in attendance a chance to see this facility, which serves as a meeting space that can accommodate groups ranging in size from 20 to 400. In addition to showcasing park amenities, the festival also features educational, informative, and entertaining exhibits. School choral groups, dance troupes, and other performers also provide entertainment for those in attendance.

The 676-acre park is located on Lynches River, and it features a river swamp with towering cypress trees, sand hills, and vegetation.

Lynches River County Park is located at 5094 County Park in Coward.

The celebration is sponsored by Margaret Holmes Peanut Patch and the kids zone is sponsored by Raldex Hospitality Group.
