FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – A ribbon cutting was held Wednesday for an inclusive playground at Carver Elementary School.
The playground allows students of all abilities to play together.
Florence School District 1 Superintendent Dr. Richard O’Malley also announced new special education goals and efforts by the district.
“Smiling, laughing, you see children playing with each other that maybe didn’t know each other until they got on the playground. It really encourages a lot of building of friends and just comradely amongst the whole school,” said Kandee Shelor, Carver Elementary School Speech Therapist.
