Florence native and Wilson High School graduate Reggie Sanders opened up the Tidal Wave baseball tournament today at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach.

Sanders has been a part of the Ripken Experience for ten years and spent today taking pictures with each of the teams participating as well as catching the ceremonial first pitch and signing autographs after the opening ceremonies. The tournament will have players from U-12 up to U-19 with teams coming from all across the country and one made up of several players from the Middle East.

Sanders spent 17 years in the MLB with eight teams and won a world series with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2001. Sanders is also a member of the exclusive 300 home runs and 300 stolen bases club.
