FLORENCE – The Florence RedWolves head into the Coastal Plain League All-Star break with some offensive momentum after pounding out 14 hits in a 8-5 win over Forest City Friday.

It marked the first time Florence has reached double figures in the hit column since June 25. The RedWolves scored three in the fifth inning to break a 4-4 tie and take the lead for good.

It was Count on Kids night at the ballpark as part of a News13 promotion designed to inspire well-rounded kids to influence positive change in the community. Nine-year-old Kameron Miller threw out the opening pitch. He overcame heart trouble that stemmed from a viral infection two years ago.
