FLORENCE – There’s lots of enthusiasm around Clemson athletics right now, and it showed at the Florence Civic Center Friday night.
A record 1,300 fans showed up for the Tigers’ annual Prowl and Growl event. Football coach Dabo Swinney and basketball coach Brad Brownell signed autographs and spoke to fans. It’s the largest crowd they’ve seen at any event on the tour so far this spring, and it broke the record for the Florence event by about 500 fans.
“I always enjoy spending time with Coach Brownell and getting a chance to go around and see all the Clemson folks,” Swinney said. “There’s not a lot going on this time of year, so this kind of fills the gap a little bit as we head into summer.”
The next stop on the Prowl and Growl tour is in Charlotte May 24.
