ALPHARETTA, GA (WBTW) – Police dash cam recorded a Georgia officer being dragged several feet by a suspect’s car while his arm was pinned inside.

After the car stopped, the suspect continued to fight with the officer and took off running before he was tackled to the ground.

According to a Facebook post by the Alpharetta police, the officer made a traffic stop when he observed reckless driving. The officer suspected illegal drugs were in the car and the driver might be impaired, police said.

Dennis Aquirre, 24, of Alpharetta, has been charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, trafficking illegal narcotics, possession of illegal narcotics, DUI, reckless driving and other traffic charges.

After Aguirre was ordered to get out of the car, he began to struggle with the officer. Aguirre got back in his car and attempted to drive off with the officer holding onto him. The officer was dragged several feet before he was able to turn the car off, police said.

“Our officer’s arm was pinned inside of the car by the suspect, which is why he wasn’t able to let go and disengage from the suspect,” police reported.

Both the officer and Aguirre had minor cuts and scratches from the incident.
