FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Rapper Kodak Black appeared in a Florence courtroom on Thursday.
12th Circuit Solicitor Ed Clements told News13 the goal was to set a trial date and deal with other pretrial issues. He also told said Kodak Black was required to attend the hearing.
Kodak Black, whose real name is Bill K. Kapri, was charged with criminal sexual conduct in an incident that happened in February 2016.
The incident report from police says the victim reported the alleged assault to her school nurse around February 6, 2016.
The victim says she and a friend were at the Comfort Inn and Suites in Florence after a concert with Kapri and another person. Reports say the victim and the suspect went to a separate room alone when he became physically aggressive and sexually assaulted her.
Black has been out on a $100,000 surety bond.
News13 was in the courtroom on Thursday.
Kodak Black’s trial date is tentatively scheduled for April 2019.
