A first of its kind scholarship tournament was held on the Grand Strand Saturday.

The Randall Scholarship Foundation hosted its first golf tournament to raise money for the scholarship.

It’s a non-profit organization that provides organizational and financial support for local programs that mentor young people.

“I wanted to do something to give back to the community so I started the Randall Athletic Scholarship and last year we were able to give three scholarships to area students,” said Jerome Randall of the Randall Scholarship Foundation.

Randall used to play football at North Myrtle Beach High School.

There was also a silent auction at Saturday’s tournament.

The tournament was played at Arcadian Shores Golf Course in Myrtle Beach.
