MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – After several months of public meetings, the Horry County RIDE 3 Sales Tax Commission voted on a preliminary list of road projects for Horry County Council to consider placing on the November 2016 General Election ballot.
Voters will have to decide if they want to approve a countywide one percent sales tax that would go into effect for eight years beginning May 1, 2017. The estimated revenue during the sales tax implementation is $590 million, to be used for road improvements.
The RIDE 3 Sales Tax Commission will host seven information meetings throughout the county for community members to learn about their recommendations, view maps, speak with engineers, and give feedback on the road projects.
