WASHINGTON (MEDIA GENERAL) – With less than a month to go until voting begins in Iowa, both Democratic and Republican presidential hopefuls are traveling throughout the Hawkeye state eager to shore up support.
Clinton turns to major supporters for help
The three remaining Democratic presidential candidates will participate in a Fusion Network televised forum on Monday night. Over the weekend, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will use Virgina Gov. Terry McAuliffe as a surrogate in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
On Sunday, Planned Parenthood is expected to endorse Clinton during an event in New Hampshire. The endorsement would be the first time the organization has ever endorsed a candidate in a Presidential primary race.
GOP prepares for first debate of 2016
The remaining 12 presidential candidates are waiting to find out who will be chosen to participate in the next GOP debate hosted by the FOX Business Network. The television network, who’s producing the event in South Carolina on Thursday, is expected to reveal who’s invited to the main event on Monday night. This weekend Donald Trump will host two campaign events in Iowa. The latest polls from the Hawkeye state indicate Trump is in a close second behind Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
This weekend, the newly crowned Iowa front runner will wrap a six-day, 36 country bus tour across the Hawkeye State. On Saturday alone, the GOP hopeful is expected to make stops in at least five towns.
