MURRELLS INLET (WBTW) – The St. James baseball team lost 1-0 to Belton-Honea Path on Thursday night in Game 1 of the 3A Title Series.
The Sharks managed only five hits against Bears pitcher Jester Griffin. Griffin threw a complete game, holding the Sharks scoreless and striking out six.
Sharks pitcher Anthony Peck gave up one run in the top of the 1st inning but settled down after that. He only gave up seven hits and threw a complete game. But the Bears’ early run would be all they needed to take Game 1. Game 2 will be Saturday in Belton-Honea Path.
