FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Damage assessment teams are working to complete their preliminary assessments of Florence County. Thus far, those assessments show 422 homes have received minor damage, 42 major damage and 15 were completely destroyed. These numbers reflect only 40 percent of the 805 square miles of the county. This is an estimated $7, 885, 211. As teams regain access to inaccessible areas in the county these numbers are expected to rise. Assessment to county infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and county facilities is still being undertaken. This process also includes cost for possible debris removal. The damage assessment is expected to be complete Wednesday.
