GREENVILLE, SC – A special education teacher and aide are being investigated by the Greenville Police for reportedly using wooden rulers to strike non-verbal students.
According to the police report, the two used a multi-colored tape-covered ruler to strike special education students at East North Street Academy.
Greenville County Schools confirmed the investigation and says the two are no longer employed by the district.
The report lists at least 6 victims whose ages range from 8 to 12.
The incident happened August 16 in a non-verbal special education class at the school but the report was not filed until August 31.
Police say the two have not been charged and the investigation is still ongoing.
