SIMPSONVILLE, SC – A 22-year-old woman who was reported missing was found alone, restrained and unresponsive in a Simpsonville motel on July 26.

Now police say her claims that she was kidnapped, assaulted and drugged at the Motel 6 were made up.

Jessica Carrie Johnston of Greenville is now charged with Filing a False Police Report of a Felony.

Simpsonville Police say Johnston’s mother told them she received 3 video text messages of her daughter bound, gagged and crying at 6:30 Tuesday morning. She reported her daughter missing.

Investigators say Johnston tied herself up and sent the video to her mother.

Police found the Johnston’s vehicle in the parking lot of Motel 6 on Grandview Drive and her unresponsive inside a motel room.

The warrant says she provided several false statements and purposely mislead investigators.

Investigation into her claims showed no such crime had happened and the incident was fabricated.

She is out on bond.
