A man that police say used a knife to rob the Columbia mall and the Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach has been arrested, Myrtle Beach Police said.
The suspect was caught after the most recent incident on Jan. 24 when a store called Hot Topics, at Coastal Grand Mall, was the target of an armed robbery. Police say that the same suspect robbed the Myrtle Beach mall on Jan. 13 and robbed a Columbia mall before that.
On Monday, police arrested Stanley Moultrie, age 48, and said that he is “connected with multiple robberies across the state.”
“Stanley Moultrie has been arrested and is being held at the Georgetown County Detention Facility. Stanley Moultrie will be charged with Armed Robbery and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime,” Myrtle Beach Police said.
According to the police report a Hot Topics employee on Jan. 24 said she was working behind the counter when the robber snuck up behind her with a knife. The employee says the man was in the store 20 minutes before the robbery asking to look at a pair of jeans.The police report says the robber got away with $469 from Hot Topic.
A previous robbery happened in the mall at Zumiez less than two weeks earlier on January 13. The police report says a robber put a knife to the cashier’s back, demanded the victim not to look at him and then empty the register. According to the police report when the cashier gave the robber money, the man made the employee lay on the ground for five minutes.
