MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A woman says a man she only met when he checked her into her motel broke into her room and sexually assaulted her, according to police.

Roger David Strothoff is charged with criminal sexual conduct first degree and burglary first degree after the incident on Tuesday at Sea Dunes Ocean Front Motel, 605 S. Ocean Blvd in Myrtle Beach.

The arrest warrant says the victim told police her door was locked before she went to bed. She told police when she woke up she realized the suspect was sexually assaulting her, police said.

According to the arrest warrant, she also told investigators she did not know the suspect other than when he checked them into the hotel.

Sea Dunes Ocean Front Motel confirmed Strothoff was an employee and was immediately fired after the incident.
