(WBTW) – A Murrells Inlet man is being charged with unlawful neglect of a child after reports say he overdosed on Fentanyl, Sunday evening.

According to the Horry County Police arrest report, George Fredrick McClain III, 31, of Murrells Inlet told medics that he snorted Fentanyl after they revived him with two doses of Narcan.

McClain was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center Sunday evening, according to online booking records.

McCain’s wife told police that he got into an argument with his mother and left their home with a 3-year-old girl in his car. When his wife met up with him, she said she could tell something was wrong and had him pull into the TGI Friday’s parking lot on Hwy. 17 Bus in Murrrells Inlet.  His wife told police that is when he started to become unresponsive and turn grey.

According to the police report, he was taken to South Strand Medical Center.  Police say McCain ingested Fentanyl and began overdosing while driving with the child in the car, and was arrested.
