MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Police are looking for a man they say left two emaciated dogs in a Myrtle Beach motel room.
Police responded to the Oasis Motel on York Street regarding animal cruelty and abandonment at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday.
Officers met with management, who had custody of two dogs owned by the suspect. The suspect was evicted from the motel the prior night.
David Austin Knight, 23, has warrants for his arrest on the mistreatment of animals.
Police said a young adult female, red and white Pitbull was emaciated “with severe abdominal tuck and extreme hourglass shape.” Another brindle and white boxer/bully mix was underweight with bones visible, according to the warrant.
The dogs were taken to Grand Strand Humane Society for care and treatment.
