FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW)- According to the Florence County Sheriff’s office, deputies are investigating a possible homicide after a body was found in Florence Saturday morning.
The County coroner says is happened at the Zaxby’s on 2211 West Lucas Street in Florence. Officials say the body was found at 8:13 am.
Coroner Keith von Lutcken identifies the victim as 28-year-old Ivory Henry, III, from Florence. Von Lutcken said at the time of examination, it appears Mr. Henry died as a result of a gunshot wound
His body will now be sent to MUSC for an autopsy. The incident is under investigation by the Florence County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s Office.
In a statement released to News13, Owner and operator Britt Poston says:
“Zaxby’s is a family company and we are dealing with a terrible tragedy today. Please join us in supporting our associate’s family today, and the entire Florence community, as we deal with the loss of one of our family members. We are doing everything we can to cooperate with local law enforcement in their investigation and this will remain as our highest priority until we can bring closure to this tragic event.
Respectfully, we’ll be closing our location at 2211 W. Lucas Street today. We apologize for any inconvenience. Our thoughts are with the Florence community and the family of our team member.”
