CHARLESTON, SC –Mt Pleasant Police arrested four protesters after they briefly shut down the Ravenel Bridge Wednesday.
Members of “Southerners on New Ground” blocked four northbound lanes on the bridge in a protest they say was aimed against police brutality.
Jillian Brandl, Jasmin Wilson, Ansley Pope and Chantelle Lebeau were all arrested and they face disorderly conduct charges.
They claim racial profiling and harassment of black people continues even after Walter Scott was shot and killed last month.
All 4 protesters have posted bail.
