PICKENS Co., S.C. — The Pinnacle Mountain Fire received more than an inch of rain overnight and more is expected today.
The wildfire is 10,500 acres as of Tuesday morning and 60 percent contained.
Crews are not being dispatched to the lines Tuesday morning out of safety concerns, officials said in a statement. Officials said wet roads, slick terrain and soaked ground won’t allow for line improvement or backburning. Air operations are also suspended for the day.
Teams could be sent to scout the perimeter if conditions improve Tuesday afternoon.
About 40 North Carolina firefighters and support personnel are helping on the northern perimeter of the fire, which crossed the state line Sunday.
There are no current evacuations. Table Rock State Park is expected to reopen today. All facilities and roads will be open with the exception of Carrick Creek Trail, Table Rock Trail, Pinnacle Mountain Trail and the Foothills trail portion located on Table Rock.

Officials say the wildfire has cost at least $4.2 million to date.
