DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol has released photos of an 18-wheeler truck wanted in connection to a deadly accident on Sunday.
According to the highway patrol’s website, it happened just before 3:30 Sunday afternoon at East McIver Road and Pickett Drive.
Troopers say the driver of a 1993 Suzuki motorcycle was driving north when he hit a patch of standing water, and lost control. He then crossed into the southbound lane, and troopers think the trailer portion of a tractor-trailer hit him.
Coroner Todd Hardee says the motorcycle driver, Omoi Akim Forde, 23, of Charlotte, died as a result of the crash.
Troopers say the driver of the tractor-trailer didn’t stop. Troopers are now asking for the public’s help to track down a blue tractor-trailer cab with white lettering on the cab and a white refrigerated trailer.
They’re asking anyone who was driving a commercial vehicle in the area at the time of the crash to call them at 843-661-4700.
SCHP, along with the MAIT team, is investigating the crash.
