FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) – The Best Buy in Florence kicked off its Black Friday early starting Thanksgiving day.

Electronics are a hot item for most families this Black Friday weekend. The Dellinger family is no different.

They traveled all the way from Sumter to look for a Wii U game system.

The family says shopping on Thanksgiving Day does not bother them because it’s still family time.

Chasity Dellinger explained, “You’re still with your family. You have family come, even if you have two kids. You’re still together and that’s all that matters.”

Dellinger says shopping on Thanksgiving is much more kid friendly because the crowds are smaller.

Best buy in Florence drew large crowds from across the Pee Dee for Black Friday deals. People began waiting in line around five Friday morning.

First time Black Friday shopper, Melanie Fajardo of Coward was eighth in line at Best Buy. She says the sales were so good she will come back again next year.

Best buy opened its doors at eight Friday morning for Black Friday shoppers to shop all things electronic.

Hundreds of people entered the store up to make sure they got their favorite electronics at a good price.

Benjamin Austin took off of work to make sure he was in line early to get a 40 inch LG TV.

He hopes to reward his sons for good behavior after they damaged their last TV.

Austin said, “It seems like they’ve grown up a little bit more. So, I got them something a little bigger. I’m going to surprise them. I have them show them a little love. I had to come out here and get them for them. They are doing good!”

Other customers left the store with new phones, laptops and DVD movies.

Matt Nelson says he came to Best Buy on Thanksgiving night with a friend and then returned with his dad Black Friday morning.

Nelson said, “My dad was looking for a TV but of course. We were a little bit late to the game so they sold out. So, we bought some movies. We usually get a lot of movies each Black Friday.”

Nelson and his dad hope to continue shopping but consider his Black Friday a success already.

Store representatives say they are prepared for large crowds and will offer online order options if they run out of an item.
