MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The 2019 edition of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans will have some new faces in the lineup and coaching staff. The goal though remains the same, bring a Carolina League Championship back to the Grand Strand, something they did in 2015 and 2016. The High-A Afflilate of the Chicago Cubs is led by first year manager Steve Lerud, who comes from Eugene. Players like pitcher Alex Lange and Aramis Ademan return to the beach for their 2nd seasons. Catcher Migual Amaya is one of the top prospects in the Cubs organization, he’ll spend the spring and summer at the beach too.
Opening Night is Thursday, April 4th at 7pm against Lynchburg.
