MYRTLE BEACH (WBTW) – The Myrtle Beach Pelicans defeated the Carolina Mudcats 6-5 on Saturday night at TicketReturn.com Field.
Pitcher Jake Stinnett earned the win for the Pelicans. He went six plus innings and only allowed one earned run. The Mudcats scored four runs in the top of the ninth but David Berg closed it out and earned the save.
Ian Happ had two RBI for Myrtle Beach. The Pelicans scored twice in the second, third and fifth innings.
The two teams will meet again tomorrow for the series finale. First pitch is 5:05 pm.
