MYRTLE BEACH – The Myrtle Beach Pelicans split a double header with Lynchburg Saturday and clinched the first-half title in the Carolina League’s Southern Division.

Myrtle Beach fell 2-0 in Saturday’s first game and bounced back with a 5-4 extra-inning win in the late game. They had already clinched the division title prior to the start of the second game by virtue of Salem’s 8-2 loss to Winston-Salem in the afternoon. The title guarantees the Pelicans a spot in the Carolina League playoffs.
