MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (May 30, 2019)  The Myrtle Beach Pelicans blanked the Potomac Nationals and showed off offensively in an 8-0 win on Thursday night from TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark. 

The Birds (19-35) exploded out of the gates in the second game of the series as they plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. 

After Carlos Sepulveda knocked an RBI single to left, Kevonte Mitchell launched a double that plated Sepulveda and made it 2-0 Birds.

The Pelicans added to the lead in the third inning when Tyler Payne drove in Zach Davis on a sacrifice fly to extend it to a 3-0 game. 

The Birds doubled the lead in the fourth inning after they loaded the bases with two outs against Potomac (21-31) starter Andrew Lee (1-3) who committed a throwing error that allowed three runs to score and made it 6-0. 

Myrtle Beach pushed their lead to 7-0 in the fifth inning the Pelicans when Mitchell blasted his eighth homer of the season.

A sacrifice fly by Luke Reynolds in the eighth inning capped off the 8-0 win for the Pelicans, who evened the series at one game apiece with the Nationals. 

Erich Uelmen (1-0) was dominant in his first home outing of the season as he went six innings and allowed just a pair of hits in his first win of the season.
