Pelicans beat Lynchburg to close out first half

MYRTLE BEACH – The Myrtle Beach Pelicans pounded out 12 hits to beat Lynchburg 4-1 Sunday in the final game of the season’s first half.

Jacob Rogers homered for the Pelicans. Jeimer Candelario went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Chesny Young and Pin-Chieh Chen each had two hits.

The Pelicans trailed 1-0 after the top of the first but scored two in the bottom half to take the lead for good.
