The South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a deadly crash in Marion County on Tuesday.
According to the SCHP website, the crash happened on U.S. 501 near Grady Road around 3:48 p.m.
Lance Corporal Matt Southern with the South Carolina Highway Patrol says two vehicles were involved. He says the driver of a 1996 Ford 4-door was traveling westbound on Grady Road when that driver failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign at US 501. The 1996 vehicle was then hit by a 2012 Ford 4-door, according to troopers. The driver of the 1996 vehicle died on scene.
The driver of the 2012 vehicle was taken to Carolinas Hospital System-Marion with what troopers are calling minor injuries. They say three others in that same vehicle were also taken to the same hospital with what are said to be ‘very minor’ injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by troopers.
