A woman died Monday after a crash on Highway 301 in Dillon County, according to Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley.
Latta Police Chief Derrick Cartwright says the crash happened Monday at 1:24 p.m. in front of Latta Motel on South Richardson Street. Officers believe the driver was traveling south on Richardson Street, hit a car traveling in the same direction before it continued over the north bound lanes, hit a guide wire to a light pole and rolled over beside the light pole.
The driver was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead, Chief Cartwright says.
According to the coroner, it’s not clear whether the woman died as a result of the crash or if there was some sort of medical issue. An autopsy will be performed Tuesday.
