The city of Florence is hoping to finally have its parade Saturday.

Inclement weather and the threat of it is has forced the event to be postponed twice, and Saturday shows a chance of rain in Florence.

Florence City Council member Pat Gibson-Hye said the Christmas Parade was originally scheduled for Saturday, December 8th, but was postponed due to the possibility of inclement weather.

It was re-scheduled for Saturday, December 15th. However, the threat of rain forced another change.

The parade, which happens downtown, will now be referred to as the Holiday Parade, since it will take place after Christmas.

It’s scheduled to finally happen Saturday, December 29th at 11 a.m. However, rain is possible in the morning on Saturday for Florence. The latest report from the National Weather Service shows a slight chance of showers before 1 p.m. If the parade does go on as scheduled, higher than normal temperatures should make it a comfortable one to enjoy.
