The organization, Shatter the Silence, is working to find answers on their missing loved ones.
Saturday afternoon the organization hosted a march for justice. Several families who attended the march tell News13 they still have hope.
“This is his son, all he ever wanted was to be a father. He never got to meet him. Our lives have been shattered, we will never be the same again,“ said Kristie Jones.
The Robeson County community coming together as one for answers on unsolved murder cases, and missing people.
“My brothers case has been going on for three years and people have been questioned one time and that’s it. Nothing else has been done. We need for them to bring more people in to see what’s going on,“ said Linda Sanderson.
Families of three women found dead back in 2017, started the organization to help others in the same situation.
“This march means a lot to me. It actually gives me hope that one day justice will be served, not only for my son but for all these families,“ said Jones.
Many families believe it’s time for people to speak out about each case. “We all have to come together because the people that’s out there looking now, will probably be a member because someone in their family could be murder,“ said Joyce Horne.
The organization hopes the new cold case unit formed the Robeson County sheriff’s office will give families the closure they need.
