MULLINS, SC (WBTW) – A second person has died after a house caught fire Monday afternoon on the 200 block of Clark Street.
A Marion County deputy coroner says two of the people injured were airlifted, one of which was taken to a hospital in Augusta, Georgia. The deputy coroner also says Mullins police officers had to pull two people out of the burning home.
Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson identified the victims as Jonathan Vandroff and Sharon Davis. Both were from Mullins. Vandroff died at the scene of the fire, Davis died later at the hospital from her injuries.
An investigative team from SLED was on the scene, searching inside and outside the house. Right now, investigators do not suspect any foul play.
The cause of the fire has not been determined yet, but several neighbors at the scene said an explosion was heard, possibly caused by kerosene.
