FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – The Florence County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrested two murder suspects after a shooting Saturday killed a man on South Church Street.
According to Major Mike Nunn with the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a call of a shooting into a vehicle Saturday night around 10:20 p.m. on South Church Street. Deputies discovered two victims of the shooting inside the vehicle when they arrived, Major Nunn confirms.
Both victims were taken to the hospital, where one victim died. Florence County Deputy Coroner Bo Myers identified the victim as Jaquaz Cooper, of Florence. An autopsy has been ordered by the corner’s office, reports Major Nunn.
Deputies arrested two men Wednesday in connection with the deadly shooting. Major Nunn says Marquarus Quachan Da-Whan White, 20, and Tyquez Chamon Copper, 22, both of Florence, are each charged with Cooper’s murder. In addition, both men face charges of attempted murder, three counts of discharging a firearm into a vehicle, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
