Crowds were going nuts over the 15th Annual Florence Pecan festival, which brought more than 50,000 people from all over South Carolina.
“This is my third year and every year we enjoy coming here and spending our day at the festival,” said Grace Sumpter.
Children had the chance to participate in fun activities such as, bounce houses, getting their face painted, create balloon animals and enjoy live entertainment. The pecan festival blocked off almost 10-blocks of Downtown Florence for food vendors, rides, and music.
“You know you meet nice people and have repeat customers and that’s gratifying to always repeats,” said vendor Amy Yule.
There were more than 250 food vendors, art demonstration, an antique tractor show, car show, bike races, and a cook-off. People said their favorite part of the festival is enjoying southern food.
“Just meeting new people and of course the food,” said vendor Tamia Gore-Felton.
Vendors who have attended the festival previous years say this is the best way to bring people from ages to Downtown Florence and bring the community together.
“I can’t wait to come back next year, this is my first time,” said Autumn Jackson.
The annual festival opened up their doors in 2003 and will continue their tradition on the first Saturday of November.
