‘Sleep in Heavenly Peace” hosted an awareness event for the community at the West Florence Baptist church on Saturday.

The non-profit organization gathers around 30 volunteers to build several bunk beds for kids who are need of pillows, blankets, and a mattress.

The chapter president of Sleep in Heavenly Peace’ in West Florence, James Joye decided to start the non-profit organization back in April.

Joye says it was in his heart to make a difference in the Pee Dee.

“God put it in my heart to reach out to the community and do it for him. These kids have never had a bed of their own. much less a pillow.

Each bunk bed that is made takes about 4 hours, and volunteers deliver each bed for free with brand new sheets.

Joye says the wood he makes the bed with are donated items and his goal for 2019 is to make 100 bunk bed for the kids.

“We give each kid we deliver to a bible. They’ll look back and say hey this guy brought me this bible, let me read it. Everything is possible through Christ.
