(WBTW) – A student was assaulted with a box cutter on Thursday at Lumberton High School by another student.

Dr. Shanita Wooten, the Robeson County Interim Superintendent confirmed the incident took place on the campus of Lumberton High School.

News13 also reached out to the Public Information Officer with the Robeson County School District, Tasha Oxendine, who released a statement about the attack. 

“There was an incident between two students at Lumberton High School on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at approximately 10 a.m. Principal Larry Obeda was in the same hallway and immediately responded and stopped the altercation between students.  Appropriate disciplinary measures were taken to address the incident.  District Administrator and school resource officers with the Public Schools of Robeson County assisted with the investigation.”

Oxendine added that parents were notified on the situation.

There is no word on if the attack caused any injuries.
