Several train cars went off the rails spilling their cargo in Mullins, Friday afternoon.

According to Captain Judith Barker with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office the cars were carrying lumber and when the cars went off the tracks they spilled the cargo out.

Capt. Barker says Front Street from Hayes Street to Progressive Church Road is closed as crews work to clean up the spilled lumber. SCDOT is bringing in flatbed trucks to take the lumber away. A detour is set up around the area.

No one was hurt in this incident.
