MULLINS, SC (WBTW) – A furniture company will open a new distribution center in Marion County and is expected to bring about 21 new jobs to the area.

Maxwood Furniture, Inc., which makes and distributes bedroom furniture, has announced plans to locate its new distribution center in Marion County, according to a press release from Henry McMaster, Office of the Governor. The about $1.8 million investment is expected to create about 21 jobs.

The distribution center will be located at 3630 East Highway 76 in Mullins, the release said. Hiring for new positions is expected to begin this month.

The company’s existing headquarters are located in Charleston County.
