Florence (WBTW) – Local law enforcement officers responded to Delmae Heights Elementary in Florence after several reports that shots were fired.
According to Florence County Emergency Management, just before 9 a.m. Tuesday morning, Florence County Dispatch received several reports of shots fired at Delmae Heights. Florence County Emergency Management confirmed the reports to be false, and there was no gunman on the school campus, and no students or staff were ever in harms way.
According to the Delmae Heights Elementary Facebook page, the school was conducting a reenactment of a pioneer encampment on the campus. Neighbors of the elementary thought it was an emergency situation.
