A person won $250,000 in the lottery on their way to work in Timmonsville.

According to a press release from the South Carolina Education Lottery, a lottery player in Timmonsville won $250,000 in the Wild Cherries game on their way to work.

The winner, who asked to remain anonymous, said “the tears wanted to come too” about the winning ticket.

“Three top prizes of $250,000 remain in the ($10) $250,000 Wild Cherries game, at odds of 1 in 700,000,” the release also says. The winning ticket was sold at the Cruizers #11 store, located at 303 Cale Yarborough Hwy. in Timmonsville. The store received a commission of $2,500 for selling the winning ticket.
