One person is dead after an early morning crash in Darlington County.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened on E. Lydia Hwy just after 2:00 a.m. Sunday.
A pedestrian who was on eastbound lanes of the highway was hit by a passing car.
Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee Identified the man as 37-year-old Jarrett Darell Alfrod of Hartsville who died at the scene. Hardee tells us Alfrod was struck on E. Lydia Hwy at the intersection with Birdsnest Road.
